Quantum Optics is a well-known field that deals with the interaction between light and matter. In the last decades, the development of optical techniques and the appearance of improved or new quantum systems have paved the way to build different platform where quantum information can be implemented. As result, a whole new revolution is taking place, namely: quantum revolution. In this matter, worthwhile to stress the appearance of quantum computers, quantum communication channels, quantum cryptographic, quantum sensors, to name a few.

The main object of this Center is to perform high impact research and training future researchers in the field of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. With a novel Ph.D. program, students will perform cutting-edge research in an environment that is unique in Chile, that joins together a group of experts in different areas but with a strong background in Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. This environment will promote team-work at the highest level, giving the opportunity to specialize in one research line, but having a wide knowledge of the other topics covered by the group. Our group is a multicultural team, committed to diversity and currently involved in several national and international projects, offering local and foreign collaborations.
